I, Ylva Svensson (1963), have been working as an illustrator since 1990. Besides jobs concerning textile, children’s books, etc. I have mainly been specializing in developing ideas and making texts and illustrations for greeting cards.
Illustrator with ideas
Many of my collections have been retailed over the years. My longest running series has been “Smile!”, published by Hallmark The Netherlands. For “Smile!” I provided all of the artwork and most of the ideas and texts. Over the course of 18 years I kept innovating this series, adapting to the ever-changing commercial environment. I have always found joy in molding a basic idea into a greeting card with a story that consumers can relate to. Sometimes by the means of a joke, other times by a more refined message. The reactions of consumers to my work have made my job very rewarding. It can be surprising to hear how much one of my greeting cards has meant to someone.
I do not limit myself to one particular style of illustration. On this website you can view a selection of my artwork.

Nieuw! Speciaal voor particuliere klanten ben ik momenteel bezig met het ontwikkelen van een nieuw concept. Het is de bedoeling dat er een mogelijkheid komt om voor een bescheiden bedrag artwork in te kopen, waarna men dit kan gebruiken voor privé-doeleinden, zoals bijvoorbeeld uitnodigingen en geboortekaartjes. Zodra ik hierover meer informatie heb zal ik dat op deze site laten weten.
